Medway Youth Softball is dedicated to teaching the game of softball and mentoring girls and
young ladies as they play the game. Our goal is building self-confidence, camaraderie and
instilling competitiveness on the field to providing the girls and young ladies who play for Medway with the belief in their abilities as individuals so they can succeed both on and off the playing field.
A non-profit organization, MYS is led by an all volunteer board and coaches. All coaches and volunteers are CORIed and all pass concussion training protocols while adhering to the safety standards of USA Softball and State and Town guidance regarding Covid-19.
MYS players compete in many leagues and in travel ball programs throughout the year. In the Spring, MYS competes in the Metrowest Girls Softball League and in the Franklin Girls Fastpitch League in the Spring. The Metrowest Girls Softball League is composed of teams from Ashland, Holliston, Millis and Medfield. The Franklin Girls Fastpitch League usually sees teams from Bellingham, Franklin, Holliston, Medway and Milford.
In the Spring, teams participate in a division based on the player’s grade or age (depending on the program we're participating in). Divisions are grades 3 & 4 (Minors); grades 5 & 6 (Majors); and grades 7 & 8. Grades 3 & 4 include some coach pitching to move the game along. The seasons for grades 5 & 6 and 7 & 8 conclude with single elimination playoff tournaments. There is also an Instructional program in the Spring for girls in grades K and grades 1-2 which focus on skill building and activities designed to ease the transition into the 3rd - 4th grade program for those girls aging up in the Fall.
In the Summer, MYS offers league play in the Twin Valley League as well as Summer Travel softball - these are try out leagues based on player evaluations - which can include both local and regional softball tournaments). MYS also fields an 18U team for 1-2 tournaments in late summer.
Our Fall season includes participation in Metrowest Girls Softball for girls grades 3-4 and 5-6, the highly competitive Bellingham Fall League (tryouts/evaluations required) and we also field an 18U team in the Charles River League.
